In storytelling traditions all over the world, we find tales of a cosmic hunt. The tale of the chase and transformation when caught is ubiquitous and ancient, perhaps one of the oldest. It is structurally similar across communities but arises in a variety of palette and purpose. Despite our practical differences, the thread of the little bear in the sky seems to be woven into how we connect the dots of who we are.

An adaptation of the novella And Wedded String and Arrow by Nathan Bradley Smith, Urstory is a call for curiosity, a look at the place of storytelling in human experience, and an extremely humble homage to Joyce's compendium of western narrative tradition, Ulysses. The action occurs on the same calendar date, in four separate years but implies a cycle that exists in the movement of the stars. It is a story of the last day of a girl's life, told in the form of myths attributed to the constellation Ursa Minor. Published by Teenage Dinosaur 2016.
